How my world was "ROCKED UP"?

When it comes to writing, I am definitely one of the laziest creatures of God, or nature, or whatever. Well, it was 1993-94 that I listened to Pink Floyd for the second time. Actually the first time I had no idea, what I was listening to! I knew it was exciting, and I remember a helicopter, which was cool, and nothing more! But the second time it was different. It was a very wise choice of my friends, to give me that cassette and also Bon Jovi, Guns'n'Roses and some others. But "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon" remained always top of my list. I can not explain, what I feel when I listen to those Albums for the one thousands time.

When talking about "The Wall" one can not forget, what a movie was made based on the whole album, or vice versa! This album was and is the best Pink Floyd album for me, although some believe that "Dark Side..." and "Animals" are better works. "The Wall" is astonishingly new, even today and after 32 years, that I can not believe it. The album was released when I was only 1 year old. I became familiar with it when I was (approx.)16 and now after 15 years, each time it gives me a little bit more joy!

"Another Brick in the Wall" might be well-known in the world, at least is the most famous Pink Floyd song in Iran, but for me it is just a normal song with a very big soul behind it. It talks to all generations, just because they all hate school! But when it comes to best of the best, "Comfortably Numb" is the one for me. What "David Gilmour" does with guitar in this song, is comparable with what Maradona did back then with the ball. "Roger Waters" has done a wonderful job too, performing one of his best vocals, of course beside "Vera". This is one of my favorite songs of all times, and not only by Pink Floyd.

"Mother" and "Goodbye Blue Sky" just make a perfect combination after each other. Then come two very strong songs: "Empty Spaces" which talks to me with the words and afterward "Young Lust" which is not only about the lyrics, but also and even more important, the accents and stresses from "Roger Waters". I deeply feel the soul of the song, the scream of a young boy that wants a woman to calm down his lust. And how it ends to a strange phone conversation in the movie.

I have the feeling that after "Comfortably Numb" all the album comes to an end, or conclusion and the rest just helps the album to settle down. A couple of unsaid words and then a little bit of hope, that all might go better than before! "Comfortably Numb" is the climax and afterward comes just some caressing!
Aha! Almost forgotten, they have "The Division Bells" too. And I love some of the songs, I mean I love them like crazy!!!

"What do you want from me" is a good one, but in "Keep Talking" my dear Mr. Waters talks to me through the words and just like a mind reader. Like the song was made just to suit my situation, at least in these years. But when it comes to choose THE song from the album, "High Hopes" will be No. 1 for all. I can not think that someone might probably not like it. Specially when watching the Music Video, I sense that something moves inside me, something like a sense of bigness, a will to fly, a wonder that how much a music can have influence on you. I feel like the biggest balloon in the music video, but full of joy. Never listen to it unless you make sure that you can turn the voice up to maximum and nobody will interrupt you during the song. Otherwise it will be ruined!

Pink Floyd has done so many great works and my English skills are not good enough to describe what I really think about them, beside my knowledge in music of course! So let's skip the other works and just have a hint on "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" in the album with the same name. If there is a God in the form of rock or Pink Floyd, he or she is talking to you through this song: Saying so many good things without saying anything special and at the end , you feel satisfied.

Well, so far I have said so much about what I did not really know anything about. That will be the way it goes my friends! I like to talk about what I can not understand, but like or love. Pink Floyd is one of the bands, that you must not die before knowing them. Make sure that you listen to at least two of their albums!
